With a historic steam train ride to the cave theater
Embark on an exclusive adventure trip on which the ‘Mountain Queen’ - our historic steam locomotive 95027 - will take you puffing along one of the most impressive steep lines in Germany at full steam into the heart of the Harz mountains.
Your adventure trip through the beautiful Harz landscape starts at 1.15 pm at Blankenburg main station.
After arriving at Rübeland station at around 13:55, the route takes you into the fascinating stalactite scenery of the Baumann Cave, past millennia-old stalagmites and stalactites.
The one-hour theatre performance of ‘The Little Prince’ then awaits you on the natural stage in the Goethe Hall.
After the performance, the ‘Bergkönigin’ will take you back to Blankenburg from Rübeland railway station at around 15:55.

The theatre play is only available in German!

Free choice of seats for the performance.
Duration: approx. 60 minutes
Temperature in the Goethesaal: 8-9°C - Please bring warm clothing and/or seat cushions to the performance.
The path to the Goethesaal is not barrier-free and can only be reached via several steps.
